Will the cops come to my home and arrest me?
Anonymous5 views3 answers
I have a warrant for driving on a suspended and not paying the fines. I just had a falling out with a friend and she said she was going to call the cops. If she calls the police stations and tells them I'm at home and have a warrant, will they come arrest me?
The police certainly could come to your house and arrest you if you do in fact have a warrant out. However, given the nature of the warrant (misdemeanor offense), it's unlikely that police officers are going to go out of their way to make an arrest. I would strongly recommend contacting a local attorney to appear with you at court and take care of these warrants. While the police may not come to your house today, any future contact could lead to your arrest. It's better to be proactive and address these warrants now.
I agree with what has already been said here. You need to consult with an attorney and take care of the warrants before you are arrested, whether at your home or during a traffic stop, or any other number of police you may encounter the police. Judges are more likely to be reasonable in setting bond and handling your case if you come in on your own, rather than waiting until the police catch up with you on your warrant.
