With the new ATF regulations regarding mental health, is there a way to seal or expunge a minor record in Colorado? Any options?

The BATFE is beginning new regulations that will require all medical records in regards to mental health to be transferred to NICS and will then preclude anyone with such a record from buying, owning, or carrying a firearm. As my goal is to become a lawyer, I feel that this would also hinder my chances for mistakes that I made more than a decade ago and have not repeated since. Additionally, I am currently seeking work in the firearms industry and this would surely destroy any chance I have at finding a position. I'm hoping that there is a process or a way (easy would be nice) to keep the ATF from infringing on my rights.

I don't think you can mean "all medical records in regards to mental health," but it would be helpful if you specify the regs you're referring to. Also, by "minor record" do you refer to adjudications as a juvenile, or to convictions for misdemeanors? Those clarifications might gain more responses from the lawyers on this forum.

Colorado Juvenile cases can be expunged. See https://www.courts.state.co.us/Forms/Forms_List.cfm?Form_Type_ID=157
