We rented a 3 bedroom apartment together, left my place to"help" them get a place, they left me on a 12 month lease without paying with 5 months left on lease, what are my options here? Thanks in advance! They also told me the manager of apartments let them leave at no cost to them, now i cannot afford by myself

Anyone who signed the lease is responsible for the entire amount of rent due. If multiple people signed a lease and some want to be removed from the contract, the landlord would get your consent. Have you talked to the landlord? Instead of relying on what your friends told you, go ask the landlord.

It appears your lease would make all three of you responsible under the lease. The landlord can't release them without your knowledge or consent and it must be done in writing. I would speak to the landlord about this and contact your former roommates. If they don't pay, your are still ultimately responsible for the full amount. However can seek contribution from them for their failure to comply with the terms of the lease. I would recommend being proactive about this rather than defaulting on the lease for nonpayment and potentially causing problems with your credit or ability to rent in the future if you were to be evicted.
