Can We Remarry In Another State Before Waiting Period Is Over?

I was married and divorced in Nebraska (so is my fiance). My divorce was final Feb 22, 2010. My fiance's will be final May 17, 2010. I know Nebraska law states you cannot get remarried for 6 months plus 1 day after the final decree. Does this mean we cannot get remarried in Nebraska during that period or anywhere for that matter? My friend had the same thing happen and she got remarried in Vegas before that waiting period was up because they told her that any state that they could get married in any state that didn't have a waiting period. If that's not true and we get remarried in another state, would it be considered not legal here?
