Should I give my lawyer the original documents? Or just the copies?
I gave my lawyer the original documents for a lawsuit. Can I ask the original documents to my lawyer and he can keep the copies?

It depends. Sometimes original documents are needed as evidence as the law requires originals to be used if they exist in some instances. This is a conversation that you should be having with your attorney

Depends on the documents. For instance, in some cases original death certificate has to be filed with the court. Speak to your counsel to discuss.

Sometimes original documents are required to make a case. The real question is, if you don't trust your lawyer to properly handle your original documents, are you sure you have chosen the right lawyer?
