Do I need multiple DBAs to run muliple web businesses as a sole proprietor?
Anonymous2 views2 answers
I currently run a website design business as a sole proprietor. I have a DBA and collect money via paypal. If I decide to start similar or related web businesses with different website names but I still collect all money with the original paypal account, do I have to register a DBA for each new website?

Multiple DBAs are a good idea when you have multiple divisions of businesses under one corporate umbrella. The bigger question in this situation is if you should take the next step and form an LLC or Corp for your business. In fact a separate LLC or Corp would be beneficial to you for each of your different companies.

You will only have to register new DBAs if you willing doing business under different names from your legal name or the DBA you currently own.
