I here that she will become a citizen as soon as I become one, but seem like there is a whole process to follow, wishing not to go through what I went through for her as well. Thanks

If your child is not a resident, you will need to file the FORM I-130 on her behalf. If the child is not yet 21 years of age, a FORM I-485 can also be filed with USCIS in that the child made a lawful entry into the U.S.

You do not mention how old your child is. Generally speaking, she will need to become an lawful permanent resident (green card holder) before she automatically becomes a citizen based on your citizenship. Her age is relevant both to determine if you can immediately apply for her to become a permanent resident (she has to be under 21) and if she can become a citizen automatically when she receives her green card (she has to be under 18 before becoming a green card holder). You may wish to consult with an experience immigration attorney to submit the applications on her behalf.

Unfortunately what you heard is not true, your child does not become a US citizen as soon as you become one. You will have to sponsor her for a green card first and she will have to go through the same process you went through. Get help from an immigration attorney to help you with the process. All the best.

Unfortunately you heard wrong. For her to become a citizen as soon as you become one, she need to have been a legal permanent resident in addition to other factors.
