We have been battling Wells Fargo for the longest time. They have constantly let things expire, they haven't produced documentation. The judge finally ruled in Wells Fargo favor with something on the books that protects them if they lose a document... any way after that we started a loan modification with them. There was a sale date for the house. My lawyer and Wells fargo wanted to set the sale aside because of the loan mod. The judge denied that motion. I was forced at the last minute to file bankruptcy Pro Se. Need help going forward. The loan mod as of right this minute is under "review"

Yes, you can definitely hire a lawyer. Sooner rather than later is best. You should hire a bankruptcy attorney who is familiar with loan modifications. It will probably cost more now that it would have if you would have started with an attorney. Lawyers typically charge more when they need to clean up issues from pro se clients.

You need to hire a lawyer right away, preferably with experience in foreclosure and bankruptcy, loan modification and adversary proceedings in bankruptcy. You may still be able to force a mediation in the bankruptcy court and obtain the loan mod you seek.
