What do I need to hand in for a P1 Visa application?
Anonymous2 views3 answers
I am A Canadian high level athlete in need of a P1 Visa.
My new training site is in the united states and I plan to spend more than 6 months a year down there. The B2 visa only permits me to be down in the states for 6 months I believe.
I will only be training and I'm wondering which forms I need to hand in? I have a coach who is willing to write anything I need and I can get something written from my training sites as well.
What is? and who would write a Written advisory opinion?
I do not plan on working, so do I need to have a contract with anybody?
I have been using this site for help -

If you a citizen of Canada you can remain in the US longer than 6 months, plus even if you are not a citizen of Canada, one can extend their tourist status for additional 6 months, Consult with an attorney as to your best options.

To come to the United States your U.S. employer must file a Form I-129, Petition for Non-Immigrant Worker, accompanied by the appropriate fee and supporting documentation.
Please note a petitioner who will be filing as an agent for multiple employers must establish that it is duly authorized to act as an agent.
The U.S. employer must submit a consultation from an appropriate labor organization. The consultation must describe the work or services to be performed in the United States and your qualifications for such work. If no appropriate labor organization exists, this requirement is excused.
