Can I clear off my traffic probation or cut off probation time?

I had car accident last month. I got probation in 12 months and $100 fines, level is misdemeanor because I drove last car hit two cars in front of me. The first car stopped and turned left and second car tried to stop. I tried to stop but it happened too fast. This is my first time and nobody got hurt. in the court, they said I followed too close. Can I have any options to reduce my probation time down from 12 months to 1 month or 3 months or clear off?

If you do everything you are supposed to do, you should be able to hire an attorney to file a motion requesting early termination. The key is to complete all requirements of probation.

It's possible. If you are on supervised probation, you could ask your probation officer for early discharge. If that doesn't work, then you'd need to file a motion with the court asking the judge to grant early discharge. Have a lawyer help you.

So sorry you crashed. As to your question: It is possible. Definitely it's important that you are abiding by all terms & conditions of the probation. Your reason for the request matters. I do suggest you have a well-experienced attorney assist you should you feel you want to seek such a court motion. Best to you (and THANK YOU for the reminder that's good for ALL OF US to hear over & over: Keep a LOT of space between 'us' & the vehicle just ahead-----------the new rule is to keep 3 or 4 seconds' distance between 'us' & the vehicle just ahead !!).
