Just wanted to know what Power of Attorney form is required, to grant a designated individual permission to evict a tenant & does it have to be notarized & filed with County Clerk to be legal. Thank you for your time & experience.

Dear Selden Property Owner: You could designate another person to engage an attorney for you and to commence a summary proceeding. But the designated attorney in fact is not a person able to commence the proceeding in his or her own name. The petitioner must be the landlord or owner of the real property. So you may as well hire your own attorney.
