We did a Declaration of Informal Marriage at the courthouse in June 2015 where we were allowed to backdate the marriage to May 2013 since this is when we considered ourselves married. If we were to divorce, which date would the lawyer use?

If you both agreed that you were married on a day in May 2013, that would be date of marriage for determination of community property and separate property by inception of title.
