I believe I am being retaliated against by my employer for questioning my Mangers ethics what can I do about this?

I work for a large retail chain and there is supposed to be an "Open Door Policy" so that you can voice concerns, ask questions and make suggestions etc. I felt that my manager was targeting me for some time now for unknown reasons, deliberately scheduling me hours he knows the store is slower so that it would be difficult for me to make sales goal numbers I am required to have or you are written up. He knows that I am aware of his many policy violations that go completely against company rules and regulations and he must feel I am a threat to him because of this. I brought the issue up with his boss, and got no results, and the HR manager, now they have cut my hours to part time to get me to quit so that I am no longer a threat, do I have a case?

Unfortunately, it does not appear that you would have a claim for discrimination. Unless you have a contract, or the discrimination is because of race, religion, gender for example there is no discrimination claim. You might have an underemployment claim and may want to contact the employment security commission.

I agree with Attorney Linett in regards to the discrimination. If it is a large retail chain, you might wish to consider contacting the corporate office, in particular, the HR department to discuss the issues. In addition, you will need to document who, what and when you spoke to anyone about this matter.
