How can I prepare for a child custody hearing?

3 views 3 answers
I have an attorney. Mediation has passed and the hearing is approaching. I submitted an RFO to make modification to father's visitation schedule when he moves closer. He currently lives 8 hours away, but plans to move closer with his girlfriend. I was concerned about the increase in transitions once he moves, and the father's girlfriend, that has a history since the birth of our child, of an odd attachment to our young child

You should be asking these questions to your attorney.

need more information but.........when you have a lawyer that represent you, it is imperative to trust him/her and ask all questions related to your case....if you don;t trust and discuss all issues with your lawyer you can harm your own case

Father has a step-up when he moves closer and you have already filed to change the step-up? it appears to me that the major issue here is going to be evidence - speculating what might happen when he has more time is not going to cut it. Have your attorney prepare you to testify - this is perhaps the best preparation.
