Dear Staten Island Resident:
The form for will only needs to be "legal" for the state of your residence. You must still comply with all the local rules for preparing a will in your own state.
I would ask the provider to make sure the provisions are compliant with the law of your state. The information presented herein is for general purposes only. It is not intended to, and may not be construed as, rendering legal, tax or accounting advice. For specific advice, please consult a tax attorney in person. Good luck. The question is usually whether the execution was legal. Each state has its own requirements.
I would advise: have a specialized lawyer review the will and have that lawyer supervise the execution. You have no idea how many "do it yourself" documents are done wrongly, or omit things, or are not signed properly.
the will has to be executed in accordance with the formalities of the state in which you are a resident. other states will give full faith and credit to the rules of the state of execution.
