What is administrative calendar? Is it to confirm the trial date or to inform the court of the status of the case ? Thanks.

I am representing myself in a civil litigation and have a court date scheduled for an event: "administrative calendar". My case has a initial trial date on 2/2/2016 and a mediation on 1/9/2016. This case is in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Administrative calendar is to inform the Court about the status of your case. If you are the Plaintiff and you do not show up for administrative calendar, your case will be dismissed. If you are the Defendant and the Plaintiff does not show up, you can ask that their case against you be dismissed. The mediation date is a deadline only unless you have already scheduled your mediation with your appointed mediator to take place on that date. The trial date may be tentative pending whatever is said at the administrative calendar. I have not had a case in Wake County Superior Court in quite a while, so this is general advice only. Someone from Wake County will hopefully provide more specifics. Good luck!
