By law are we not entitled to a 30 day verbal then a 30 day written eviction notice?

Currently living in a house, rent is up to do. Landlord put property up for sale and is refusing to take rent money for January. The realty company is telling us we have to leave or our stuff will be set out on the side of the street. We were told they had 60 days before the house would be foreclosed on to sell it.
