You certainly need to make sure charges are taken out (if you feel you need to) so if you haven't already done so, go do it right now by taking the information to the magistrate. In some cases where a criminal act has occurred I can see letting things go given certain situations but not all. That is entirely up to you. As far as retaliation is concerned, yes you should be concerned as it happens on a daily basis. A person need only swear out an affidavit in front of a magistrate. It is terrible law that needs to be changed. Best of luck!

Individuals do not press charges. Only the prosecutors office can do that. The most this person can do is file a complaint. If its as black and white as you make it out to be then the prosecutors office shouldn't be filing charges against you.

Why is this not witness tampering? Was the criminal case over? Perhaps the best thing you can do is hire a private attorney for this nonsense.
