How can my daughter find out what is in her fathers will?

4 views 3 answers
My daughters father recently passed away. My daughter lives in her fathers house along with her step mother. Her step mother is not telling her anything about her fathers will. What rights does my daughter have gaining access to her fathers will and the fact that she is his only child? My daughter is 42 years old.

When the Will is probated, it will be on file at the county courthouse where the decedent lived before passing. Your daughter may check there.

... Hello ... ... If he had a Will (and/or an Estate has been opened), you can find it in the Register of Wills in the county where he passed away ... ... Good luck ...

If your daughter knows there is in fact a Will, and it has not been probated, I suggest that you daughter consult with an experienced probate attorney in the locality where she lives to consult on ways to force the administration of her late father's estate. The area of the practice is Probate as daughter's father is deceased.
