Can I travel out of country if my employer has filed for an H1b amendment even though i have a valid stamped h1b visa

I have a valid stamped h1b visa with my employer.I changed my job location in may 2015 and as per the notice from USCIS my employer has to file an h1b amendnent for me by 16th january. I have to travel outside the county from 15th January to 29th January as my mom is having health issues.So my question is Can I travel out of country if my employer has filed for an H1b amendment while I am not in country for 15 days or will they reject my petition for travel outside the country even though i have a valid visa with future date of expiration.
