Who should be paying for my Dad's ongoing/recurring medical bills now?

I've been trying to make appointments with medical specialists on behalf of my Dad because he's having issues walking and suffering from the aftermath of a concussion after he was hit by a car. A lot of them say they don't take open "accident cases" for fear of the insurance refusing to pay. How can I find him medical attention? Who should be responsible for his medical bills? I'm in the process of hiring a lawyer but if doctors are refusing to see him and he still has health issues, what should we do? I've notified his health insurance, car insurance and the other party's car insurance as well.

The first responsibility for paying for medical care is the patient, that means your father. However, you should be able to check your father's own insurance for med pay to pay for deductibles. Additionally, you may submit to his health insurance carrier, and if you are not governed by no fault laws, then you can also sue the driver of the other car for reimbursement for these claims.

If you don't have an attorney, then your father and/or his health insurance should be paying for the medical bills; however, once you hire an attorney, the economic burden of his medical treatment may be lifted off your shoulders until the case closes. You should hire a personal injury attorney as soon as possible.
