I had a mesh removal and developed a seroma that the surgeon didn't treat properly and so it took two more surgeries to correct his wrong. How did he wrong? Instead of draining the seroma with proper instruments he popped it with a qtip and left a whole open for weeks before I went septic and it required month of pain and suffering with a wound vac then plastic surgery. Now I have no navel and look like a freak.

Contact a local medical malpractice attorney and bring your full medical record with you to the free initial consultation. Malpractice and bad outcome are not synonymous. A least one Medical expert will be necessary to evaluate the level of care provided as compared with that care's standards. In New York there are Morbidity and Mortality reports that facilities must complete in situations like yours. Though they are often inadmissible, they are discoverable and you may want to suggest that your attorney secures copies in your case.

A surgeon needs to review your records perhaps with an infectious disease physician as well . You should therefore call or email an attorney as soon as possible to start the process.
