Kindly suggest as per above scenario as I am stressed a lot because of all this situation and seeking your advice what should do

Hi, As many Indians have issues with Passport with wholesome appearing in Last name with Given Name blank in Passport, I had the same issue. As a result my I797, DL, SSN have First Name as 'FNU' and Last Name appears as first name + last name. Early 2016 I got my Passport renewed here in USA with split in name ( its not considered a changed in name by India Government) and not the passport has now split my name into First Name and Last name correctly. Now I have a travel planned to India on 7th Feb 2016 with return flight on 11th March. My Visa expired in July 2013 and current petition is valid till 14-Nov-2016 so I definitely need to go for Visa stamping. 1) DO I need i797 amendment for my name to be split in first name last name as per my renewed passport? 2) If yes, Should I file for amendment in premium before traveling to India 3) Can I continue my travel plan and fly to india even when amendment is in progress. 4) If I travel to India while amendment is in progress, and I get new i1797 while I am in India, can I use the copy of new i797 to go for Visa stamping while in India.
