On March 29th 2010 I had taken my dog to the new Spay/Neuter Clinic that the Humane Society had opened up. They performed the Spay and the days floowing my dog was not herself, vomitting, loosing weight, no energy, whitre gums, not eating, Just not the dog I know. On april 11th we had taken her in to an emergency clinc and found out she was anemic, and the vet felt a mass in her abdomen. We couldnt afford the care there, so the next morning we went to our family vet and we found out her abdomen was full off blood. We had to have a blood transfusion done, and than a surgery, and the surgery revealed that the Ovarion Stump that was supposed to have been closed suring the spay was left open causing the internal bleeding. All together the bills totaled over $1000.

You can file a small-claims suit against the Humane Society by filling out a form and paying a fee at your local courthouse. You are responsible for presenting your own case in small-claims courts, so be sure to have copies of all your animal’s medical records, statements from other veterinarians who examined your animal after you suspected negligence, and copies of your veterinary bills. Small-claims courts only award “out-of-pocket” expenses, and there is no recovery for your dog's pain and suffering, or yours for that matter. I am glad to hear your dog has recovered!
