Traffic Violation/ Driving Violation/ Auto accident

I am an 18 year old college student and I've been driving for about 2 years now, one day when I was driving to a walmart in the city I now live in I was in an accident when I was trying to change lanes. At this point I have only lived in this city for about 2 months and I am still not familiar with the area on top of that the road I was driving on is one of the busiest road in the city and is under construction; therefore, the lane markings are not yet painted only spray painted. Well I was driving and I needed to change lane (to the right) so I glanced back and I didn't notice a car so I moved over but before I knew it my car and another lady's car made contact and we were pulled over. The police was called and I was found at fault and was ticketed for "improper lane change." Now I have a court date coming up and my insurance company has paid for the damages $2600. They have given me a letter stating that I and my insurance has paid for the damages, but I'm nervous and unsure about what will happen at court and what I need or should say when I appear at court.
