I own a condo in Nutley; upstairs owner's daughter moved in & constantly drags stuff, stomps around on old floors, slams drawers & doors, wakes me up at 4:00 AM from noise almost daily. I left a note asking 'would she please be considerate & stop making so much noise?". Backfired badly, to the point she left a note saying she filed a complaint for harassment & intimidation! Now what?
You need to get yourself a criminal lawyer a harassment charge can give you a criminal record, subject you to up to 30 days in jail and even probation. Furthermore with a criminal record you could even be barred from entering certain countries. Get yourself a good criminal lawyer you tried to do this yourself and as you said it backfired badly. It may not be cheap to get a good lawyer, but the penalties you face can last a lifetime.
