Child Support - Child Care Costs
My ex-wife is claiming that she spends much more on child care then she actually does. I don't want to short my childrens' care in any way, but I want to pay what is fair. For example, I know for a fact that the children do not attend any sort of care provider in the summer months because my ex is a teacher; even if she had something that would require her to be absent during the day time I am also a teacher and I could take them. However, she factored in over $3,000 for the summer months. We have a hearing for modification of the support order on Thursday. Can I request that the support amount be calaculated without any child care, and then deal directly with the care providers for my 50% of the responsibility? If so, is it likely that this is possible? I live in Ohio. I just want to insure that the money I pay for child care actually goes towards child care, and not towards random purcahses that may or may not be for the benefit of my children.
