Can I sue for Slander/Defamation of Character?
Anonymous2 views1 answers
On two (2) occassions now, a man that lives down the street has made 9-11 calls where he has stated that there is "illegal activity" going on in my home, he has reported that I am selling drugs out of my home, even though he doesn't even know my name and never sees any type of "traffic" in or out of my home. He has done this to the point that when the OKCPD officer's informed me of his "claims", I wrote him a letter and told him that if he did not stop with the slander I would sue him.
You potentially have a case. I think the bigger issue is going to be, how and to what extent were you damaged. Additionally, if you win your case, what sort of resources does this person have that you might collect from. Consult with an experienced trial attorney.
