Will he be notified if I file for a default. For him failing to file a response?

I am a victim of DV.
I filed for divorce and my spouse has not filed a response , Tomorrow will be 20 days.
I plan to file an application for default.
My question is this; will the court notify him of his default and will he get another chance to file a response?
With my PTSD due to DV throughout my marriage I prefer not to have to face him in court.
A default would be so much easier..
I know its wishful thinking.
He is a manipulator and a con ..
I would totally lose in court just by going into an anxiety attack.
Thank you for your answers in advanced.
You must notify him by sending him your application for default. Otherwise, default judgment could be set aside later and you could face sanctions.
Consider retaining an attorney to help you if he does answer or if you anticipate he will appear at the default hearing.
By law you are required to notify him of default. If you want the default to be valid, be sure he gets a copy of it. This process can be complicated sometimes if you dont know wha tyou are doing, I suggest you consult with an attorney
