The casino has lights along the sidewalk that point at each tree to spotlight . From the parking lot to the entrance. They are rectangle attached to two wires and sit loosely on the ground . I was stepping on the sidewalk had my purse on my wrist and I tripped over onto my knee .the light was pulled onto the sidewalk walkway facing oppiset direction is why i fell. I was on a date. .I felt embarrassed. .so I didn't make to big of a deal about it at the moment. It's been 6 weeks and I still feel emtreme pain I can't kneel down at all and I've missed work from it. I haven't went to the doctor thinking it would go away. But it's this continued handicap that I am having that has me suffering. It's still swollen and seems to me to be filled with a pocket water or something. .what kind of case do I have at all.

You can file a personal injury or premises liability claim. Did you file any kind of report to the casino? Take any photos of the area after you fell to document it? Not filing any kind of report or seeing a doctor for 6 weeks may impact your case, but it doesn't necessarily make it impossible.

I agree with my colleagues that in order to substantiate your injury, an incident report with the property would have been your best course of action, followed by photos of your injuries and scene where the injury occurred, as well as medical attention to address your injuries. The further from the incident you are, the more challenging it becomes to prove. Best wishes.

The key word in your question in my mind is "casino." Unless you were in Nevada, I am guessing your injury took place on property owned and operated by a Native American tribe under the jurisdiction of the tribal court. Tribal law is an entirely different ball game. Your best bet is to contact an attorney who devotes a substantial amount of time to the practice of tribal law.
