Can we sue someone for defimation of character and for using our tax number for their own personal use?

We had some business deals with a guy. We have settled our end of the deal, but he still owes us for pasturing his horses, damages and hay totalling around $8500 that I have figured so far. We have moved 3 times now because he has cost us our jobs by starting rumors and having his friends or try to trump up phony charges this has cost us around $5000 in moving expences. We just started another job and he is doing it again. This gentleman and his girlfriend got ahold of our tax number and has been buying things for their own personal use. Is that tax fraud or can I get on something? I do not want to do any of this but it has to stop somewhere. He and his girlfriend are affecting our lives and our children!
It sounds like you should consider making a report to your state tax department as well as the IRS if there is sufficient evidence that another person is using your tax number. You may also wish to notify your state police agency. In the event that your business has suffered financial losses as a result of this conduct, you need to consult as well with an experienced and licensed WY trial attorney who can assist you in understanding your options. I recommend seeking some direction, even if just a referral, from attorney Mike Vang of the Laramie law firm Brown & Hiser. Of course, you can also do an internet search for trial lawyers in your area.
There are one or more crimes that have been committed with both criminal & civil repercussions. You need to get a copy of your credit report & consult with an attorney in your area experienced in your area.
