I need the services of a contingency lawyer to have this man and friends vacate the premises and pay what he owes.

My renter has gone from very thankful, to despondent, to hostile. He initially begged me to rent out my unit to him and his girlfriend. We agreed that he would alternate months of payment in exchange for emptying and painting the unit. We agreed that he would alert me IMMEDIATELY if anything required my attention. We agreed that due to his connections in the trade he would facilitate the procurement of water heater, hvac, as needed. As soon as I finally found out about the water heater, I had it replaced. He has deliberately waited to keep me informed so as to be able to claim "there is not heat" He does not seem to intend to provide me with his hvac contacts, yet will not let me walk into the unit for me to jot down the heater/cooler's information. He has paid so far half-a-month and has been given three months free rent (even though we had agreed on two and at NO time did he indicate that his work would require more than said two-months of free rent). He has lived in the unit a full year, has NO intention to leave. Basically he has turned into a squatter. I am a retired widow. He is heavy-set and tall and verbally abusive.

It is unlikely that you will find an attorney to take this type of case on a contingency fee basis, particularly because the tenant may be judgment proof. Use 's find a lawyer tool to locate an attorney in your area, but be prepared to pay a retainer fee.

I highly doubt you'll be able to find an attorney to do this on contingency. However you may be able to find an attorney willing to work out a payment plan or a reduced fee.
