Was pulled over driving without insurance and driving alone with an instruction permit, legal options?

So essentially, I rolled the dice and lost. I'm 19 with an instruction permit. Friend asked me to pick her up, but all I had was my car that didn't have insurance at the moment. That being said, the plates that I never returned had been suspended. Was pulled over coming off the freeway from dropping my friend off, and was cited for an instruction permit violation, suspended plates, and no insurance. Living on my own at this age, I would really have a hard time paying for all of these fines. Court date was set a month from now. What should I expect to happen, penalty wise, and what are my legal options?

You should expect the judge to throw the book at you. You may have your license suspended for a VERY long time. Get counsel.

You should look into retaining a local traffic ticket attorney, they don't cost too much and can save you many headaches down the road. If you are determined to be guilty the clerks can usually work out a payment plan with you for any fines assessed and it will not all become due immediately. Your best option is to retain a competent local attorney to represent you. That way you can sleep better at night if any fines are assessed knowing there was little else you could have done. Hope this helps.

Do NOT just go in an plea guilty and end up paying a large fine. An attorney may be able to save you a lot of money and amend the charges or get some dismissed. Usually, when a minor or beginer violates a restriction it may prolong the waiting period. Hire an attorney who handles speeding tickets, most are very affordable in Las Vegas.
