What does "Affidavit for motion to support commitment order" mean?

My son's father is on a purge agreement, which states he is to stay current with support, but of course he hasn't. There is a filing of a motion to support a commitment order. Im not sure as to what that means. It doesn't state who filed it, whether it was him or the courts.

You can check the CCAP system to see who filed the motion and affidavit. Without more background information it is difficult to say anything other than an affidavit is a sworn statement filed to support a position a party has taken. My guess is that the county child support agency filed this, but you would need to verify through CCAP or the county clerk of courts office. Sounds like a good time to consult with an attorney. Best of luck.

The title of the document doesn't really give you enough information. You should reach out to the court and request a copy of it, or alternatively, consult with an attorney who can obtain the document for you and discuss what it means for your situation.

My guess is the state child support enforcement attorney filed it and they are asking for some type of jail term to enforce what appears to be an order finding him in contempt. One of the conditions of the purge orders for compliance apparently was that he had to stay current with his payments; when he fell behind, it most likely prompted the child support attorney to file the motion; there is no way he would file this, which either leaves you or the child support enforcement attorney.
