HI,
Got speeding ticket after passing the N400 Interview. Oath ceremony soon.
How to deal with it. Should I mention in the Oath letter questioner on the back side?
Help is really appreciated.
Yes, you must mention it. You should decide if you are going to pay the fine or go to court. You cannot be sworn in until this is resolved, whether by paying the fine or going to court. If it is just speeding, it is not a problem of moral character and will delay your swearing in jusdt a bit. If it is more than that, it could impact whther you can naturalize at all. This exact question just came up last week at a liasison meeting I attended between CIS and the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
I would concur with the previous answer. You must disclose it. If you were in fact speeding, then you should pay the citation quickly and show evidence that you've paid it to USCIS.
Best of luck.
