I have been having bad stomach pains since march, I was told I have IBS and I said I don't think so because it feels so weird, he kept saying it's IBS, my stomach started to get bigger and was told it's still IBS because it's unlikely for me to have cancer because I'm just 23, I asked for a scan a couple of times I even called my insurance if he requested it and he didn't because he was depending on my blood test results which are fine, not until the start of july when I had DVT and had my heart rate increased by a lot, did he send me for an ultrasound, that's when he saw I have ascites and sent me to ER eight away. End result by the end of july that I have stage 3b ovarian cancer which might be caught earlier if he listened

Sorry to hear this. You have described a potential meritorious claim of medical malpractice. I suggest that you immediately speak to a experienced local med mal lawyer. This site's "Find a lawyer" feature is a good place to start. Best of luck.

I'm sorry for your situation. I agree that you may have a potentially meritorious claim of medical malpractice based upon the described circumstances. The success of your case, however, would depend upon a physician's opinion that there would have been a different outcome for you had the cancer been caught in March as opposed to July. Consult with local counsel ASAP.

You should consult with an attorney in Connecticut as soon as possible to have the records reviewed. Sounds like a viable claim and worth pursuing.

Late diagnosis of a cancerous condition is a common medical malpractice claim. This requires proof both that the doctor breached the applicable standard of medical care and that this failure changed your prognosis. Often the more difficult claim to prove is that the breach changed your prognosis significantly. Both items of proof require a thorough investigation by an experienced medical malpractice attorney.
