You may be subject for a ticket for failure to provide proof of insurance. You should describe the vehicle defect in great detail to the officer and to the insurance companies for the other drivers. They may look at product defect as the cause and go after the manufacturer.

If you get insurance now, it will help your traffic ticket lawyer with your case.

When you receive your ticket, it will probably detail the points and fine involved. Beyond that, you will have civil liability for all of the damages you caused. This can lead to a lawsuit against you and you possibly having to pay a judgment through either seizure of your assets or garnishment of your future wages etc. No one should own or operate any motor vehicle without maintaining adequate automobile liability insurance on it at all times. I suggest you not drive your vehicle until you get it insured properly.

You are required by law to maintain liability coverage as part of the privilege of having a license to drive. Your best bet is to get insurance immediately so that the citation you received can be handled as efficiently as possible by your traffic attorney.
