He will be processed and then released. He should, as soon as possible, retain experienced DUI counsel to go over all of the ramifications, the charges, the defenses available to him and the like. The attorney will be able to answer your questions. This answer is provided for informational purposes only. Actual legal advice can only be provided in an office consultation by an attorney licensed in your jurisdiction, with experience in the area of law in which your concern lies.

After he is booked onto the jail, you can post his bond and he will be released. After you bond him out you should speak with an experienced DUI attorney. You need to hire a very good DWI lawyer. Your lawyer can arrange for your husband's to make a bond. Will be able to immediately preserve evidence and can begin the defense of the case immediately since the more proactive the defense, the better the case, usually. In Texas, you only have 15 days from the date of arrest to request a hearing to preserve your license and every day you wait, is a day that is wasted and in which valuable evidence can be lost. Hire a good DWI attorney immediately.

If arrested in Harris County, the processing time can be long. I would contact a reputable bondsman and more importantly a quality DWI lawyer. A good place to start looking for a DWI attorney is with the National College for DUI Defense.

You should contact a bonding company as soon as possible. Sometimes the bonding company can get someone bonded and released before that person is processed into the Harris county system. If not, the bonding company will get him bonded out faster than anyone else. It may take a few hours before he is processed in and the bond is set so be patient. He may call you at some point and let you know what is going on. But a bondsman will be the best bet to get him out of jail the quickest. After he is released, a court date will be set. He should get a DWI lawyer ASAP as there are deadlines to be considered regarding his license suspension that should not be missed. DWI is a serious matter and can be complicated. You will need a good attorney that practices DWI law on a regular basis.
