Can I file a complaint against a local animal hospital for an incomplete diagnosis?

A family pet was at a local animal hospital and we met with a doctor who did not give a complete diagnosis of the pet or possibly the wrong diagnosis. The pet went to our primary vet who confirmed what was wrong which the doctor at the hospital did not do. Our pet went through pain and suffering for one month because they did not tell us there was a problem. The pet died.

You can sue a vet for malpractice or negligence depending on the circumstances; however, your potential recovery is very limited. Unlike medical malpractice case for people, pet owners are not generally compensated for the pain and suffering a pet may experience. Instead liability is generally limited to the replacement cost of the pet and reimbursement for cost of treatment... sentimental value is not usually compensated.
