How to win this case ?? Any tips?? What i should do?

So this is the second hearing for are custody battle and he never called in they continued it he never took his parenting classes or anything and is in prison. A year ago i got served with papers about how my daughters father thats in prison wants custody when he gets out... Even though he has violent charges and has never done anything for her or been there for her. He a very violent person he has a domestic battery charge from punching me in the face and breaking my brother and his moms car windshield and when he was out after my daughter was born became addicted to spice. I dont know why or how this ever came to court. I have been raising my daughter alone since i was 17 its been 3 in half years now and i have proof with no child support or help from him even when he was out. Hes been in jail twice since shes born and been in prison the last 2 years. I dont want. Him near me daughter he is no good for her or to be in our lives. Theres got to be someway i have it dismissed. He gets out in june i would like to be moved away by then. Oh and hes writing letters to my house and his mom is harrassing me everytime i go to these hearings.
