What happens after the Supreme Court decides on a case? Can the compensations be upgraded in Superior Court?
My sister has won an employment discrimination case on Superior Court. She realized that even though she won, she was not awarded as she should be because her case was not very well presented to the Jury as it should. Her lawyer was completely dominated by the defense lawyer and forgot to present her medical documents that could earn her substantial compensatory damages, and was not able to obtain for her some kind of employment promotion. The compensatory damage awarded to her was less than $10,000. Several other cases of employment discrimination that the Jury did not find for her was just due to weak presentation by her lawyer who was not able to defend her effectively. Can the Supreme Court demand to upgrade her compensatory damage and promotion if the Supreme Court find for her. She needs second opinions from lawyers instead of asking her very busy and very fine lawyers who accepted to defend her case in RI Supreme Court.
