How can I be charged with extortion if I breached a contract.

I was forced into signing a contract to do some work and be paid 500 when the job was done but I had to also move. Now these people are trying to say I extorted this money even though I gave them that last 3 weeks over 500 in free labor just because I didn't move out. They don't want to evict and just want to go off this contract that I was forced into signing. So I was wondering what I can do since they are now bringing the sheriff into the picture and not wanting to evict us the legal way. But up to that contract I was living in one of their apartments and working for them.

Extortion is outside the scope of any transactional issue. The case has to be reviewed by an experienced transactional attorney locally (in Hugo, OK). If you were indeed "forced" in some manner, then the contract may be deemed void and you may sue for damages (and other charges - including criminal - may ensue). On its face, it appears that you have entered into a contract and made at least a partial performance. There may be disagreement as to performance or payment, it is difficult to judge from your brief, but there does not appear to be any "extortion" by either party. The subject matter is critical - was it a landlord-tenant (lease) contract or was it a services contract?
