In the federal prison (CAMP) in MS my husband received a sanction by the DHO (6mo phone loss, loss of 41 good days and sent to a LOW (higher security). All for having a cell phone. He was sent to KY and his Unit Team there sanctioned him again by taking a month of halfway house away from him and stating that they will only recommend 3-5 months for him as their way of also punishing him. Is there anything he can do to change it? As it is common there at KY for the Unit Team and other staff to say and do what they want to inmates because administrative remedy is not adhered to?

Not sure where this belongs so I am moving it to "Federal Crime" in hopes it gets you pointed in the right direction.

Duplicate question duplicate answer. BOP has incredibly wide discretion in enforcing internal rules and in disciplining inmates for violations and misbehavior, I cannot speak to what is common or what he can do other than to behave. Wishing you luck and hoping that I have been helpful in answering your question.

If you want a full answer, you must be willing to pay an attorney to do the research to learn the answer. It is not something that an attorney will automatically know.
