Do I pay my parking ticket if license plate number is wrong with only 4 digit VIN

The city police issued a parking ticket on a no stop zone, information on ticket were license plate number, maker, year and color. All information was correct except for the the license plate number, it was a typo on one letter. The VIN was recorded but only the last four digits. Would I be able to get away with not paying the fine? Can they track me down with the information they have? Should I wait until I get a notice in the mail? Thanks.

Most counties/cities send you a courtesy notice in the mail a few weeks after the initial ticket is written. Hopefully the mistake on your license plate works to your advantage and the ticket can never be appropriately processed. You can always check every few weeks by calling the parking administration just to be sure. Good Luck!
