DS-160 question about Relative status in USA (asylum)

Business 2 views 3 answers
Hello, I am applying for B1/B2 visa for my parents and I came across a question on DS-160 application about my legal status here. There are 4 choices: -US citizen -US permanent resident -Non-immigrant -Other/I don't know I'm currently holding Derivative asylum status and haven't applied for the Green card yet. What option should I pick? "Other/I don't know"? I don't really like "/I don't know" part... thank you, Aleksandra

"Other/I don't know" is the only half-way correct answer here, but that answer will, I am afraid in all likelihood pretty much seal the fate of your parents' visa application.. The probability is pretty high that your home country US consulate will already know that your husband (and yourself) are currently pending asylum.

Other/I don't know seems to be the most appropriate answer.
