Application date for H2B Visa summer season 2018

Hi , I' am actually under J1 Visa until February 2018. I am looking for a temporary job ( under H2B visa conditions) for 2018 after my J1 to stay again a little more in Usa and obtain work experience. When the company need to fill the application if I want start for the next summer season in 2018 ( April - October 2018 ) ? I know there are 2 gap and quotas , so I want know the delay we need to respect . Thanks for your help

The sooner that the company attorney talks to you the better. They ran out of visas for the first 1/2 of the fiscal year .. but more may be available: https://www.uscis.gov/working-united-states/temporary-workers/h-2b-non-agricultural-workers/cap-count-h-2b-nonimmigrants
