Can the California DMV remove a reckless driving charge on my record that I was never actually convicted of in Hawaii?

I went to court for speeding in Hawaii. I got a lawyer and he told me to plea for reckless driving and ask for a 6 month deferral. The deferral was granted, so essentially, I deferred my plea. It was dismissed earlier this month, after the 6 month period expired, but the DMV has a "conviction" of reckless driving for 2 points on my record. It was my understanding that I was never convicted, which is the entire reason I went the route that I did.

It seems you might misunderstand the actual impact of your case.

YOU NEED TO GO TO COURT IN HAWAII AND GET AN AMENDED ABSTRACT.

This question is best answered by your Hawaiian attorney, it seems that the court may have sent notice of the conviction to the CA DMV, now the case has been ended maybe the Hawaiian Court sends an new abstract to the DMV. This is definitely best answered by the attorney who negotiated the plea.
