Lost Green Card, what to do?

Business 4 views 4 answers
Hello! I am permanent resident of the United States since last 4 years. Few days ago, I realized that my Green card is missing from my folder with other documents. I am not sure but the last time I remember having it was maybe a week ago with all my documents when I had an interview. I have tried looking at every possible place and also visited the office I had interviewed to see if they found anything but no success. I am not sure if I lost it or misplaced it somewhere. What would my best course of action be? I will really appreciate the help. Thank you.

You had an "interview" with whom? A prospective employer or US Immigration? If the latter, what was that "interview" for? Naturalization? If yes, then don't bother seeking to replace that "green card",since in all likelihood will obtain your naturalization certificate long before will get a new GC in the mail from USCIS. If was simply a "job interview", then you will need to file with USCIS a Form I-90 Application to replace your now lost? GC. Expensive and takes at least 7 months to process.

You can file the FORM I-90 with USCIS to replace a lost resident card.
