My husband is on L1A individual visa and me on L2 dependent visa..I want to work and want to know that to apply for EAD is ssn required.i had applied for ssn and got rejected saying since I m on L2 dependent cannot apply for ssn

You must first apply for the EAD with USCIS by filing the FORM i-765. You can then request the SS# from the Social Security Administration.
