I am currently in the US working on H1B valid till Jan 2019. I have the following questions: 1. I will be getting legally married this June in India. But we cant have the church ceremony until December. Can my wife apply for H4 visa at Consulate in India? She will have the legal marriage certificate by then. 2. Can she go to the interview without me as I already have visa? Will this be a concern if the consular officer asks for why didn't I accompany her? 3. She is presently working in Dubai on a temporary visa. She will quit her job assuming she gets the H4 stamping approved. Will this be a concern in her interview as to why she is applying in India? On the DS160 form, should she say "employed"? Thanks in advance for all your advice

H-4 is for spouses. Until she is legally a "spouse" she cannot make that application.

Your future spouse will be able to apply for the H-4 with the U.S. consulate in the home country once you are lawfully married. She will need to present evidence of your current H-1B status and employment.
